Who We Are
The KRD (Kinsale Rural District) Community Association was formed in 2000 by a group of local people concerned by the lack of sports & community facilities for the growing town of Kinsale & its rural environs. Since then the voluntary committee has tirelessly fundraised within the community and successfully developed a municipal Sports & Community Centre in the heart of Kinsale called Sáile Sports & Community Centre.
The KRD is a self-sustaining non-profit company, limited by guarantee, delivering significant and sustainable social and sporting impact in Kinsale and the surrounding rural areas.
Our Aim
The aim of the KRD Community Association is to ensure that Sáile is socially inclusive and accessible to all groups and members of the Community.
It is thanks to local support that together we have achieved so much. Your support going forward is just as important to ensure the long- term sustainability of this vibrant community hub.
The Journey
1998 - THE BEGINNING
A large group of volunteers who were concerned about the lack of Sports & Community facilities for Kinsale & surrounding areas gor together.
2004
The KRD Community Association was formed with a mission to build a sports & community space accessible for all the community.
2010
The All Weather Floodlit Facility ppened.
2015
Indoor Sports & Community Hall opened.

Changing Rooms & Shower Facilities

Plans are currently in progress to develop the site even further.
